Timmins is a provincial electoral district in Ontario, Canada, represented in the Legislative Assembly by one elected Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP).
The riding was created in 2017, following the recommendation of the Far North Electoral Boundaries Commission. It was formed out of the urban portion of the former Timmins—James Bay district, while the remainder of that riding became the new Mushkegowuk—James Bay district.
The establishment of Timmins as its own electoral district recognized the city’s unique identity and urban needs, ensuring that residents have a direct and dedicated voice at Queen’s Park. Today, the riding plays an important role in representing the people of Timmins and advocating for the growth, opportunities, and challenges of Northern Ontario communities.
