Trevor Holliday runs for councilor in Callander
After having been approached by a number of people, Trevor Holliday, the leader of the NOP, has thrown his has in the ring to become a councilor in Callander. Holliday aims to raise the profile of the community and attract new business. He’d also like to review spending initiatives, to ensure money is being spent wisely. This includes examining the existing contract with the North Bay Police.
You want to make sure everything is financially stable and that money is not being wasted anywhere. Is it feasible to have North Bay police out here? It very well could be but there’s a lot of stuff and I’d have to look at the books and see what’s what and see if there is any deficits or conflicts that might need to be brought up. There might not be but I want to make sure everything’s working well here.

Mayor Gary Schaap? It’s possible in Englehart.
This year, it’s possible to elect the Northern Ontario Party’s Interim President as Mayor of Englehart. Schaap is running against one just one other person, and aims to bring the community together, and by doing so, encourage growth and sustainability. In his own words:
I am looking to help the people of my town in anyway possible. It is not just a town where we just tax and do infrastructure. We need community involvement and socializing year round. The slogan for our town is a little town with a big heart. It is time for us to show it people that we care and not just as a person but as a community.
